Conclusion: Silica beads were effective in verifying in-field doses and demonstrated superior performance to film in low-dose regions. The results show significant underestimation of out-of-field doses by the Pinnacle3® TPS, which could lead to potentially higher radiation exposure to CIEDs during treatment. These findings highlight the importance of accurate dosimetry around sensitive devices and suggest further investigation into alternative TPS methodologies or enhanced dose verification approaches. Future work will involve repeating out-of-field tests and comparing these results with alternative TPS systems, such as RayStation®, to validate findings. The knowledge of potentially higher actual doses to CIEDs than those calculated by the TPS is valuable and may influence the management of radiotherapy patients with such devices.
