Material/Methods:
We developed a script using the TPS’s scripting API to automate the analysis of dose structures. The process, illustrated in Figure 1, involves automatically converting predefined isodoses (e.g., 12 Gy, 18 Gy) into 3D structures. The script then automatically checks and splits these dose structures into independent segments by employing the Depth-First Search (DFS) method which can identify distinct segments of the 3D meshes in the structure based on vertex connectivity. For each segment, relevant geometry and dosimetric information, such as volume, centroid, dimensions, and lesion involvement, are calculated. The script ensures precise mapping by addressing nested and non-nested segment issues. The results can be utilized for clinical plan quality evaluation or outcome research, including metrics like each lesion or lesion group's local V12Gy, CI, and GI.
