fig 2 : Contrast to noise results for patient CBCTs. Direct comparison of CBCTs showed that in 62% of the instances, Acuros was preferred, and no preference was reported in 20% (sum 82%). In the entire cohort of 53 patients, no (increases in) artefacts were reported using the Acuros algorithm. Conclusion: For CBCT in the pelvis, where X-ray contrast is low, the Acuros algorithm performs better in a phantom. For clinical data, Acuros is the better AND preferred reconstruction algorithm in about 80%. Although the cause of this discrepancy needs to be elucidated, use of Acuros for NHES is recommended.
