Conclusion: The contrast and spatial resolution were improved using a linac-mounted PCD, however addressing the temporal dependence of the PCD response is critical for enhancing energy weighted contrast. A CBCT spectral reconstruction workflow has also been developed to assess the 3D spectral image quality of the proposed prototype. Further improvements will involve utilising the energy information to improve scatter rejection techniques and enhance soft-tissue contrast.
