Interfraction motion The Dmean average difference, over all patients, between the maximum and minimum value among the fractions was 0.04 Gy for both kidney and lungs. The OAR constraint of the recalculated fractional dose distribution was never exceeded unless already exceeded in the original one.
Conclusion: The impact of respiration and interfraction motion on the lungs/kidneys dose during VMAT-TBI is <1 Gy and <0.5 Gy. Continuously variable respiration positions will abrogate toxicity risks of respiratory dose impact compared to the planned OAR dose.
