Physics - Intra-fraction motion management and real-time adaptive radiotherapy

Conclusion: Some clinically significant intra-fraction tumour shifts have been seen, which highlights the importance of verifying the treatment with either a CBCT after the treatment or ideally with online imaging. Despite these large baseline shifts, the majority of the treatment fractions resulted in intra-fraction tumour motions within generally used PTV margins. If large rotational online match is needed, a verification CBCT before treatment is important.
