Physics - Optimisation, algorithms and applications for ion beam treatment planning

Conclusion: DWA technology may lead to improved spot sizes compared to conventional PT, providing opportunity for more conformal treatment plans. Future work will focus on the refinement of DWA beam characteristics, thereby informing upstream DWA design. Furthermore, treatment plan comparisons are underway to further assess the benefits of reduced spot sizes, evaluated between DWA-based PT, conventional PT, and photon radiotherapy for pediatric CNS.
