Conclusion: Dosimetric changes due to our MLC positional errors in the evaluated cases have no relevant clinical implications. There is no agreement between international protocols or justifications on what tolerances should be used for MLC positional accuracy. A few examples are NCS [2], AAPM [3], and SEFM [4]. More research should be conducted on this topic to evaluate whether these tolerances may or may not prevent clinically relevant delivery errors that could not be detected with standard pre-treatment verification measurements/metrics. These problems fuel the current research trend in deep learning-based automatic treatment planning solutions[1].
