The synthetic models closely matched patient data, showing the computational model's capability for capturing microvascular features. The simulations showed higher CD correlated with better oxygenation and lower hypoxic volume fraction (Figure 1). Furthermore, the morphological variability of the network still has a role, although it is of lower importance than CD, as shown by the variability of single patient simulations. We estimated the hypoxic volume fraction in the synthetic microenvironment relative to each of the nine patients (Figure 1). Based on these computational data on hypoxia, we simulated 70 Gy (33x2.12Gy) treatment with photons and 70 Gy RBE treatment with carbon ions (Figure 2).

These simulations revealed that denser microvasculature (higher CD) led to better tumor control probability (TCP). The TCP is further correlated to the hypoxic volume, showing also a monotonic behavior (Figure 2). Finally, we could
