Conclusion: The qualitative approach employed in this study resulted in an in-depth understanding of the HNC patient experience. The findings, which were shared with psycho-oncology, highlighted the need for better engagement with this patient cohort to empower their engagement in SDM . Recognising these patients as individuals during their treatment journey and having an increased awareness of the high levels of social isolation they encounter will aid healthcare workers in improving the patient experience of this vulnerable patient cohort.
