Digital Poster RTT peer support and networking for specialised staff: the role of the radiotherapy pre-treatment special interest group James Barber Radiotherapy, Royal Free London NHSFT, London, United Kingdom Purpose/Objective: This study explores the establishment and impact of a Radiotherapy Pre-Treatment Special Interest Group (SIG), formed to support hyper-specialised Pre-Treatment Therapeutic Radiographers (RTTs) in the UK. The purpose of the SIG is to address the challenge of professional isolation by providing a network for peer support, knowledge exchange and collaboration across radiotherapy departments. Material/Methods: The SIG, formed in 2022, initially functioned as an online discussion forum for specialist Pre-Treatment RTTs, expanding to include students, academics and industrial representatives. In June 2024, the SIG hosted its first hybrid study day, which featured clinical and educational presentations on topics such as motion management, IV contrast use and training for undergraduate students. Formal feedback was collected from all attendees via an online feedback questionnaire designed by the sponsoring company and validated by the SIG chair. The feedback was collated via an online questionnaire and descriptive statistics were utilised. The feedback addressed the educational value and networking opportunities of the study day.

Results:

40 RTTs attended the study day in person and 50 attended the study day online. Feedback from the study day indicated strong support for continued networking and educational sessions, with participants citing enhanced peer support and valuable information. 23 out of 24 (95%) attendees who provided feedback said content was “very useful” or “extremely useful”, and 100% stating that they would be either likely or very likely to attend a similar
