The main risk factors associated were the presence of hypertension OR 5,2 (2,12-12,8) and diabetes mellitus OR 5,91(2,19-14)
Conclusion: Cardiac event, while infrequent, remains a concern in BC patients. While no significant differences were observed between left-sided and right-sided tumors, hypertension and diabetes were identified as significant risk factors. The incorporation of cardiac contouring atlases into radiotherapy treatment planning, combined with the development of radiation delivery systems, has enabled more accurate and localized tumor dosing, minimizing exposure of healthy cardiac tissue. As a result, a substantial reduction in the incidence of CE related to radiotherapy has been observed. Rigorous control of cardiovascular risk factors is essential to minimize the occurrence of CE in this population
