Conclusion: The clinical results obtained in our study, including tumour control and toxicity rates, are comparable to those reported in the literature for proton therapy (PT). Additionally, the dosimetric data observed in our cohort treated with helical tomotherapy (HT) are consistent and competitive with previously published results. However, the limited number of PT cases (<5) documented in comparative studies with HT makes it difficult to draw robust conclusions about its relative efficacy. For an accurate cost-benefit assessment of PT, it is essential not to rely solely on isolated results. Instead, a detailed pooled analysis of clinical and dosimetric outcomes is needed for an informed comparison.
