Speaker Abstracts AI algorithms for MRIgRT Anaïs Barateau Radiotherapy, Centre Eugène Marquis, Rennes, France

Abstract:

Magnetic Resonance-Guided Radiotherapy (MRIgRT) leverages MRI’s superior soft-tissue contrast to enhance precision in radiation therapy. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in optimizing various steps of MRgRT. AI algorithms are transforming MRIgRT by improving patient selection, imaging, segmentation, dose calculation, treatment adaptation, motion management during treatment delivery, or biomarker identification. This presentation explores key steps of AI algorithms in MRIgRT: fundamentals of AI algorithms, examples of integrations, uncertainties associated with these approaches, and future perspectives.

Speaker Abstracts Prostate cancer Alfonso Gomez-Iturriaga Radiation Oncology, Hospital Universitario Cruces, Bilbao, Spain

Abstract: This presentation will explore salvage brachytherapy as a treatment for local recurrence of prostate cancer after external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) .

- Recurrence rates will be analyzed based on initial risk stratification and failure mechanisms .

- The role of advanced imaging techniques (PSMA PET-CT, multiparametric MRI) in detecting recurrence and guiding patient selection will be discussed.

- Different brachytherapy approaches (whole-gland vs. focal therapy) will be reviewed, along with clinical evidence and oncologic outcomes .

- A comparative analysis will be presented, evaluating the results of brachytherapy versus other salvage treatments (EBRT, HIFU, cryotherapy, surgery, SBRT).

- The toxicity profile of salvage brachytherapy will be compared to alternative modalities, with a focus on adverse effects and quality of life .
