facing the challenge of MRI implementation in the radiation therapy clinic. The course is aimed at improving their knowledge in MR basics and applications in radiation therapy.

COURSE AIM To provide a basic knowledge of the physics of MR imaging applied in radiotherapy.

COURSE AIM To provide an overview of the current and future role ofMR imaging and how to clinically implement MR imaging into external beam radiation therapy. The course aims at conveying knowledge and sharing clinical experience in an applied manner. LEARNINGOBJECTIVES After following this course, the participant will be able to: • Describe the concept/idea behind patient positioning in MR • Set up a RT-specific MR workflow • Discuss the advantages and limitations of MR imaging in radiation therapy • Describe how to train RTTs in usingMR imaging • Describe how to safely perform MR imaging

CONTENT • Basic MRI Physics: - signal formation

- contrast formation - image formation • Motion correction and quantification • Quantitative imaging: dynamic contrast enhanced MRI and diffusion weighted MRI • MRI only cq pseudo CT acquisition and image processing • QA: geometry and image quality • MR safety • MRI for radiotherapy in head and neck cancer • MRI for radiotherapy for cancer in pelvic region

LEARNINGOBJECTIVES After following this course, the participant will be able to: • Describe the principles of the formation of MR signal, MR image and MR contrast • Identify the physical aspects behind MR safety • Describe MR QA for radiation therapy • Describe MRmotionmanagement in radiation oncology • Explain the basics of quantitative MR imaging of DWI and DCE-MRI • Describe pseudo CT generation and application for radiation treatment • Illustrate the implementation of MRI for radiation therapy in pelvis and head and neck cancer • Describe the application of MR guided brachytherapy and MR guided radiotherapy • Recognise and explain artefacts inMR images.

• MR guided brachytherapy • MR guided radiotherapy.

• Identify artefacts in MR imaging • Read MR images on a basic level.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? RadiationTherapisTs (RTT) and allied health care professionals interested in: • Improving their knowledge of the current and future role of MR in radiation therapy treatment • Learning how to safely and effectively implement MR imaging in daily clinical practice.
