The Annual Meeting of the European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology is a high-level conference of the leading experts in the field of hyperthermic oncology. It will be hosted by the European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology and the European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology. In 2018, the conference will take place in Berlin, and just as the multicultural character of the city works like a magnet for people from around the world, the event is meant to attract many experts from different countries. The aim of this meeting is to learn about the latest findings in scientific research, and academic and clinical knowledge concerning hyperthermic oncology. Additionally, it constitutes a perfect opportunity to establish collaborative networks with other scientists working in this interdisciplinary field. Thermal medicine is a dynamic area, which includes and extends to topics of radiation oncology, medical oncology, thermoablation, surgery, biology and medical physics. Clinicians, clinical scientists as well as biologists, physicists, and engineers are invited to attend this event. The scientific programme will consist of a number of sessions in which reputable experts will present

their latest findings, put them up for discussion, and share their experiences. The scientific focus of the conference will be the treatment of abdominal tumours using hyperthermia and the conference will also feature the use of hyperthermia for other cancer sites ranging from moderate temperature increase to thermoablation as well as associated biological mechanisms and recent technological developments.
