Pulmonary toxicity – Interstitial pneumonitis
Complaints: • Pneumonitis/fibrosis, acute pleuritic pain, hypersensitivity • Pulmonary edema, dyspnea, dry cough, fatigue, fever
• Appears gradually over several weeks • Differential diagnosis: Infection, pulmonary embolus, cardiogenic edema, lower ejection fraction, progressive tumor
• Pathology: endothelial cell swelling, necrosis of pneumocytes, generalized fibrosis in end-stage
• Treatment: supportive care, steroids
