Summary

• RT reduces LR rate after BCS with a factor 2, but effect on OS doubtful/ limited to subgroups.

• Probably we can discriminate 3 risk groups: • High risk: RT is indicated, yields survival benefit – and boost may give additional benefit • Intermediate risk: RT is to be discussed with patients, and burden can be reduced by hypofractionation and/or partial breast RT • Low risk: RT can be withheld at all !
