Summary

• Fast re-scanning could be a simple and effective method of managing organ motion • Gating simulations based on 4D-MRI data show some promise (in liver), but also could be combined with re- scanning within gating window (re-gating) • Don’t forget range changes due to motion. Probably needs to be included into PTV margin/robust optimisation • Is tracking feasible and clinically practical? Maybe only using scanning and combined with re-tracking…? Don’t forget that with SFUD planning, multiple fields are also a type of re-scanning, as is fractionation!
