Dose Escalation Study at NIRS

Radiation dose was escalated by increasing the fraction size, while keeping both the fraction number and the length of treatment constant . The treatment was delivered 4 days a week and the radiation dose was increased in increments of 5 to 10% up to the dose level at which tolerance might be reached. In recent years, the average number of treatment fractions per patient has been around 13 and the average treatment period about 3 weeks .
