Comparing with photons :

- Provides the basic advantages of protons : conformation, reduccion of integral dose - Deals with common limits of all techniques : uncertainties (eg in range) - Simple, robust, not fully optimal

- Best penumbra with apertures - Use of small ridge filters ( to reduce number of layers and time to change) - Less sensitivity to movements  See specific talks later Passive systems still have some specific advantages for several applications And can share tools with pencil beam scanning :
