Conclusion:

The Master of Clinical Oncology is a successful local training program to address the evolving needs of cancer care in Malaysia. By maintaining a clinical oncology curriculum encompassing both systemic therapy and radiation therapy, the initiative can offer well-rounded cancer care to patients across the country. Training local medical graduates within the country not only enhances the capacity and capability of the oncology workforce but also fosters sustainability and self-sufficiency in healthcare delivery. The potential impact of this program extends beyond Malaysia with the first foreign trainee enrolling in 2023. This model has the potential to contribute to countries with similar challenges, offering insights into effective strategies for building and sustaining a skilled oncology workforce.
