ICHNO-ECHNO 2022

Results All patients and doctors agreed on the need for the development of a PDA. The PDA is adjusted to HPV status regarding survival. Thirteen out of twenty patients felt well informed after standard of care counseling process, seven missed information about treatment possibilities and their outcomes. Patients and doctors were generally satisfied with the regular counseling process but were missing patient-centered information. Especially the availability of information on the internet was rated poorly. HPV-positive patients (n=10) had trouble finding correct information about HPV and OPSCC. Most commonly heard (19 patients) was that side effects and functional outcomes are most important. Survival was of less importance in treatment choice said seventeen patients because of the comparable survival in treatments. Sixteen patients stated they felt alone despite a sufficient support system. Eleven reached out to the patients association but struggled to find fellow patients. Nineteen patients said that they would have liked to hear experiences from post-treatment patients.
