Parameter derivation
• Parameters are fitted to outcome data and DVHs (fractionation corrected) using the maximum likelihood method: finds parameters which makes current observation as likely as possible
• Outcome data generally binary (tox, no tox)
• Model is associated with the characteristics of the registered outcome data: – Endpoint, including grade – Co-morbidity, concomitant treatments etc. • The confidence interval of the parameters depend on the quality of the data they’re fitted to, and the sample size
