Kernel-based methods: ‘Collapsed Cone’ approximation for efficient density rescaling
• Discretization of the point kernel into angular sectors (‘cones’) • density rescaling only done for voxels on the central cone axis, i.e. the cones are ‘collapsed’ to their central axis • precision and calculation time depend on resolution
