Verbakel et al. : “Delivery times for standard IMRT using sliding window are much longer than for RapidArc for reasons which include the fact that (1) no radiation is delivered during gantry rotation between fields, (2) multiple carriage groups are needed for large PTVs and (3) time required for each field as complex fluence distributions require small leaf openings .”
