PET staging in small-cell lung cancer

• Similar findings about the benefit of PET in staging of small-cell lung cancer:

– Correct upstaging from limited to extensive disease in 2 out of 24 patients (false positive in 1 out of 24) (Bradley et al. 2004; J. Clin. Oncol. 22:3248-3254)

– Correct staging between LD and ED in 11 out of 15 patients (Blum et al. 2004; Am. J. Clin. Oncol. 27:164-171)
