How to avoid the late side effects with APBI ??

(2) Dose rate/pulse dose (LDR/PDR) should be 60-90 cGy/h . Dose per fraction should be ≤4.3 Gy(HDR ) or

2.66 Gy (EBRT).

(2) Total dose (EQD2~3-5) should be ~45-50 Gy .

(3) Total treatment time: brachytherapy 4-5 days ; EBRT 3 weeks .

(4) Treatment volume The larger is the Treatment Volume and/or Dose, the higher is the probability of complication. The probability of soft tissue complications rise by treatment volumes >150-200 cm³. (V100 <200(-250) cm³, V150<50-70 cc, V200 < 15-20 cc.)
