• To speed up iterative procedure, a small number of

projection angles – ordered subsets (OS) – may be used

• Statistical weighing of (Poisson-distributed) counting data

is done by expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm

→OSEM iterative reconstruction

• In OSEM, the number of subsets and iterations should be

specified
