• CHK1 is a multifunctional kinase crucial for checkpoint control, DNA repair, cell cycle replication, and proliferation. • Tumor cells with increased levels of CHK1 acquire survival advantages due to the ability to tolerate a higher level of DNA damage. • By inhibiting CHK1, tumour DNA is damaged and unable to pass through mitosis.
• The CHK 1/2 inhibitor (LY2606368) is being investigated as a single agent in patients with metastatic SCCA and plans to integrate with CRT
