2. HDR-EBT – Alternative to EBRT

Hesselager:

- Resectable rectal cancer (T1, T2, T3)

- 318 patients: preoperative HDR-EBT (4x 6,5 Gy)

surgery after 4 – 8 weeks

- Matching with Swedish Rectal Cancer Registry: - 318 patients SCRT: 5x 5 Gy EBRT - 318 patients surgery only

- Purpose: to compare immediate postoperative outcome after EBRT with outcome after HDR-EBT
