10 NSCLC patients were planned using 3-field IMPT 4-D and average intensity projection CT images. 5- or 7-mm setup errors with ±3% range uncertainties The robustness evaluation: (1) isotropic 5-mm setup errors with ±3% range uncertainties; (2) breathing motion; (3) interplay effects (4) a combination of items 1 and 2. Comparison with volumetric modulated arc therapy plans.
