• Acceptance phase • Performance of equipment meets the minimum requirements (manufacturer’s guidelines) • Commissioning phase • Is the process through which all the possible machine characteristics relevant to clinical use are investigated, measured, and recorded (medical physicist’s guidelines) • Data is the standard for clinical use and should be verified periodically

Vendor provided data could only be used as a reference but it should never be used as a substitute for the commissioned data!
