Palliative Regimes in NMSC

• Palliative RT may be recommended based on patient factors: • Frailty/poor PS • Cognitive impairment/advanced dementia • Social frailty And/or tumour factors • size • depth of invasion, • location that preclude radical treatment with radiation or surgery Evidence base is poor in palliative setting Either single fraction Or hypofractionated e.g. 8 Gy per fraction delivered on days 0, 7 and 21 (Barnes et al, 2010)
