AAPM TG 179: SBRT Requirements

 SBRT is characterized by the accurate delivery of high doses of radiation in five or fewer fractions  The relatively high dose per fraction increases the potential for normal tissue damage or serious target underdosing  The AAPM TG 101 recommends the use of image guidance for all SBRT treatments to eliminate the risk of a geometric miss
