Medial in the lower pelvis = the mesorectum and the presacral space. Medial in the upper pelvis = the internal iliac vessels + 7 mm medial margin

Anterior in the lower pelvis = the obturator internus muscle or bone. Anterior in the upper pelvis = the internal iliac vessels + 7 mm medial margin
