• Smaller treatment volume by more accurate target definition • Downstaging/-sizing; higher chance of radical R0 surgery • Good compliance (CROSS)

• Early indication of treatment sensitivity

Disadvantages

• No information on histology, lymph node status • Toxicity may delay definitive surgery
