Case-control study on cerebrovascular diseases following childhood cancer : France, UK, the Netherlands

253 cases of permanent stroke and 253 individually matched controls • 72 cases and 72 controls from the UK, from the BCCSS (UB, UK, M Hawkins) • 153cases and 153 controls, from the FCCSS (INSERM, France, F de Vathaire). • 28 cases and 28 controls from the DOG Later cohort (AMD, The Netherlands, AMD, L Kremer) Matching criteria • Cohort • Gender • Age at first primary cancer diagnosis (+/- 1 year) • Calendar year at first primary cancer diagnosis (+/- 3 years) • Length of follow-up A control can serve as a control for more than one case. In addition, control from one matched set may later be found to be a case, at which point the appropriate control will be selected for the new set.
