Thecal Sac Termination

• Traditional teaching is to place lower border of spinal field at bottom of S2 • Several studies have shown that termination of thecal varies according to patient anatomy with most being at S2 but can be from S1 to S4 • Need to look at MRI of spine to determine termination of thecal sac
