Fig. 17: Ruthenium-106 (106Ru) eye plaque applicators (BEBIG) in different size and shape for the treatment of various types of uveal melanoma, including iris melanoma. The applicator types CCB and CCA are the most often used for small and medium-sized melanoma. The use of cut out applicators for tumours near the optic nerve (COB, COC) is more critical as the dose distribution may result in under-dosage in the juxtapapillary area.
