TREATMENT: EBRT vs HDR vs LDR

• A systematic review of published papers showed that the mean total radiation dose for studies investigating external radiation and HDR brachytherapy was the same and higher when using LDR brachytherapy

• EBRT: 13.5 ± 3.3 Gy • HDR : 13.7 ± 2.6 Gy • LDR : 19.3 ± 1.2 Gy

• HDR brachytherapy was associated with the lowest mean recurrence rate • External: 22.2 ± 16%

• HDR: 10.5 ± 15% • LDR: 21.3 ± 2.1
