Advantages of HDR BT - I
• Radioprotection is complete; isolation is not required • The moulds and surface applicators are easy to place and patients do not report discomfort • The treatment is administered on an outpatient basis, unlike interstitial implant patients. • The dose distribution on the skin surface with contact HDR-BT shows a sharp gradient, similar to the conventional low-energy X-ray, in contrast to the electron dose distribution. • This gradient allows a higher dose to the first mm and lower dosis to the deeper tissues.
