Conclusion These results suggest that a negative PMI is not related to a higher pain score but rather to an inadequate pain management by physicians. Radiation Oncologists attitude, when prescribing analgesics, was negatively influenced by more favorable pts characteristics. Educational strategies seem necessary in RT Depts to reduce the non-negligible percentage (30.4%) of patients with pain who receive inadequate drug therapy.
