The average mean dose in the highest dose segments was 29.7Gy (EQD2). For longitudinal strain the normal values range from −15.9% to −22.1% [3]. The possible change in the highest dose segment equates to a worsening of 2.9%. For the longitudinal strain measured on echocardiogram, a worsening of 0.7%. The circumferential strain (normal range -20.9 to -27.8) equates to a worsening of 0.6%, and the radial strain (normal range 35.1 to 59) to a worsening of 0.8%

Conclusion:

In this small cohort of early stage NSCLC patients, no significant differences were found in cardiac condition before and after treatment. The dose versus change in cardiac strain before and after treatment varied between types of strains, and was <3% in the high dose segments.
