Material/Methods:
We performed a retrospective analysis of 57 patients (41 patients), including 43 women (75%) and 14 men (25%) treated in one center. All patients were irradiated to a total dose of 6Gy given in 6 fractions, five times daily. Several aspects concerning pain duration before RT, diagnostic imaging findings, and adverse effects of RT were assessed after RT and during follow-up for 2 years. The effectiveness of radiotherapy was evaluated using the numerical pain rating scale NRS (NRS-Numerical Rating Scale) as well as the modified Constant-Murley scale to analyse functional outcomes.
Results:
Taking into account the NRS scale, during the control period the mean numerical value of pain intensity after RT decreased compared to the baseline value. Before treatment, the mean NRS score was 8.2, it decreased to 5.6 at the end of RT and further to 2.4 3 months after. During the observation period from 6 to 12 months, the mean value of pain intensity according to the NRS was 1.9 and remained at a low level 24 months after RT (2.3). Defining the functional improvement as obtaining a higher numerical score on the Constant-Murley scale, the maximum improvement was noted in 84.2% of cases after 12 months of follow-up. No adverse effects and secondary malignancies were observed.
Conclusion:
Radiotherapy for Periarthritis of the shoulder is an effective treatment providing pain relief and functional improvement without significant toxicity and secondary malignances.

Purpose/Objective:
Sometimes cancer patients develop metastases in the soft tissue like fat, muscles and connective tissue. These metastases are often big and cause pain or discomfort. They are treated with palliative radiotherapy, but patient
