The remote proctor could observe the ultrasound image of the needle placement which was stacked on top of the student’s hands and the operative site (figure 1). The student, wearing the beta version of the headset, could keep his eyes on the surgical field and his hands while the ultrasound and treatment planning images were streamed to his eyes (figure 2). In the 56 clinicians who responded to the survey 84% found it comfortable, 86% the images bright and clear, 81% had improved hand-eye coordination, 96.3% said the RTP would be ideal for remote training, and 94% valuable for resident training.
