Clinical and pathological characteristics of the patient cohort are summarized in Table 1. Treatment was primarily delivered using volumetric modulated arc technique, encompassing flattening filter- free beam technology or stereotactic body radiotherapy for tumors with a diameter of ≤ 4 cm in the radical setting (prescription dose: 36 Gy/6 fractions every other day), utilizing 6 MV energy. The 3Db achieved optimal planning target volume coverage (median D95% = 96.6%, range: 94.7%-99.3%, mean V95% = 96.4% ± 2.8% SD).
Conclusion:
Customized 3Db, created through 3D printing, represent effective build-up devices that have the potential to enhance treatment efficiency in H&N skin tumors. Particularly noteworthy is the cost- effectiveness of resin 3Db compared to commercial alternatives, as they exhibit suitable dosimetric properties, an excellent fit to the irregular facial contours, and a significant increase in build-up region doses.
