Conclusion:

SBRT yields high rates of local disease control for HCC. Particularly high rates of local control have been observed in patients with a history of HCV infection. As this association has not been seen for other forms of liver-directed therapy, SBRT may be a preferred treatment approach for HCC caused by HCV. 4 Additional studies to understand the mechanisms behind our findings are warranted.
