to save an average of 1.4min, 4.0min, 7.6mins, 11.9mins and 16.5mins of patient waiting time on the treatment couch per fraction in scenario (a) (Figure 2) and 1.4min, 4.5min, 8.3mins, 13.4mins and 18.0mins in the scenario (b) for single-room, two-room, three-room, four-room and five-room system, respectively.

Conclusion:

The first treatment workflow simulator for single and multi-room proton therapy center is established and validated through the clinical logfiles. SPArc therapy can improve the treatment workflow efficiency across all the proton center configurations. More daily treatment throughput improvement was predicted in proton therapy centers with more treatment rooms, reducing patient waiting time on the couch.
