Image 1: Test results for the first 388 analyzed treatments
Attending to the results of the tests separately, most of the errors come from the Site Setup and the Dosimetric Report test. Also, it appears quite often the warning for the Site Setup test, showing that the offsets for the patient are 0 in the 3 directions of space. The radiotherapy treatment parameters verified with these test are essential for the correct treatment of the patient. Letting a person do these verifications manually involves assuming some risks like not seeing an error or even forgetting one of the checks. It can be a tedious and time-consuming task. This tool avoids this kind of human errors guaranteeing more safety for the patient and efficiency in the process.
Conclusion:
A workflow-integrated tool has been implemented in order to assure correct external beam radiotherapy key parameters prior to treatment start improving patient safety and efficiency.
